A variety of gaming consoles allows the students at Briarcliff to learn about the history of gaming. Each week, the PEP focusses on a different console, learning about its most popular games and the technology that made it a gaming icon.
This sounds like a fun, hands-on way to help students explore gaming history and understand how technology has evolved. Studying a different game console each week can introduce students to classic games, changing hardware, and the innovations that shaped modern gaming. Including handheld game systems could make the lessons even more interesting, with devices such as the R46S handheld offering another example of portable gaming. Will students also get to compare how gameplay and controls have changed across different generations of consoles?
